I like politics. It is important. I don’t like fruitless arguing. I attended the November meeting of the Freeborn County DFL. Ralph Kaehler was there. He is running for Congress in Minnesota’s 1st District. As a farmer and businessman, Ralph said he wants to be a part or reemphasizing the “farmer” part of the DFL.

When we talked one on one, I asked about some of the hot issues. Ralph Kakhler starting his answer by saying we currently waste a lot of time with fruitless arguing. He gave an example that when he was working to open a foreign ag market, he helped state legislators who were otherwise at loggerheads to find common ground to open that market. Farmers need that kind of leadership right now. Me, too.

Even if you don’t like politics, even if you don’t like the DFL, I think you should check out Ralph Kaehler. I have been a pastor to congregations with many farmers for almost 40 years.
