It was an exciting night of wrestling Tuesday in Lake Mills as the Bulldogs took on two Minnesota teams.

In the first dual of the night, Lake Mills took on a good Maple River team and wrestled an excellent dual, winning 45-21.

“Our kids were aggressive in the Maple River dual,” said Lake Mills head coach Alex Brandenburg. “We wrestled very well against many of their ranked kids and took care of business against their unranked kids.”

The final dual of the night was a classic, as the Bulldogs batted No. 4-ranked Blue Earth Area.

The score went back and forth the whole dual and actually ended in a tie, 30-30. However, a dual cannot end in a tie and Blue Earth Area won on criteria to get an extra point to top Lake Mills, 31-30.

“The Blue Earth dual was a fun one to be a part of,” Brandenburg said. “Although we lost, we are wrestling a lot better than last week, and our conditioning seemed to be getting better as well.”

Several wrestlers had signature wins on the night, and the Bulldogs move to 4-1 on the season.
