The Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer a 55-plus driver discount four-hour refresher course from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 16 at the Albert Lea Senior Center. Courses are also available online at www.mnsafetycenter.org.

According to a press release, completion of an eight-hour course qualifies participants for a 10% discount on their auto insurance. To maintain the discount, drivers must complete a four-hour refresher course every three years.

According to the release, a Minnesota Highway Safety & Research Center-certified instructor will update drivers on defensive-driving tips, changes in laws, vehicle technology and traffic safety.

The cost of the four-hour refresher course is $22.
