Juveniles cited after incident in Hartland and other reports

Vehicle fires reported

Two vehicle fires were reported on the interstates Monday morning in Freeborn County. The first was reported at 3:44 a.m. on Interstate 90 near milepost 145. The vehicle was fully engulfed and all occupants were able to get out safely. The second was reported at 7:28 a.m. Monday on Interstate 35 near milepost 9.

 

Juveniles cited after incident in Hartland

One juvenile was cited for careless driving and another for theft Sunday night after another juvenile was reportedly dragged by a car about a half a block.

According to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office, a car with four juveniles in it drove to a residence at 601 William St. in Hartland to get an xBox charger.

A juvenile at the residence reportedly came out to hand the charger to the front-seat passenger in the car, when the passenger tried to grab the victim’s cell phone. The victim still reportedly had a hand on his phone, as well as on the passenger’s hooded sweatshirt when the driver started to move the car, reports stated.

The victim reportedly fell off about a half a block away at the stop sign with his phone.

He denied medical attention.

Deputies were notified of the incident at about 11:40 p.m.

The driver was cited for careless driving and the front-seat passenger for theft.

 

2 arrested for DWI

Deputies arrested Chasity Dawn Kalynn Eustice for driving while intoxicated and expired registration after a traffic stop at 2:10 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of West Front Street and Lincoln Avenue.

Police arrested Anthony Alan Madrigal, 18, for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop at 8:04 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Euclid Avenue and West Main Street.
