Letter: Only the little people pay taxes

Lately, I was having a conversation with a far-right Republican. I mentioned to him that the Republicans are wanting the name of that whistleblower. I suggested to him that the Republicans  should offer to give up Trump’s tax returns in exchange for that whistleblower’s name. His response was why do the Democrats care about how much Trump paid in taxes. I responded the Democrats aren’t interested in how much  he paid in taxes. Everyone knows he hardly paid any. The filthy rich don’t pay taxes, only the little people pay taxes. That’s what the Republicans stand for: giving the filthy rich tax breaks. Trump’s big tax cut for the filthy rich is a good example.

The Republicans have done a miraculous job brainwashing some weak-minded average Joe’s that it is the filthy rich who create jobs. This is such a fallacy. It is the amount of supply and demand that creates jobs. The filthy rich already have what it takes to produce the product that is in demand. If there is a demand for something, they have the means to produce it. I was sitting at a table with about eight people the other day. I asked them if they remember that multi-millionaire on the national news when he said his secretary paid more taxes than he did. I got no response. I would have thought someone would have spoken up and said that isn’t right. People have come to accept that this is the way it is.

It is going to stay this way until the middle class and average Joes put up a stink about it. It enrages me to no end that the filthy rich don’t pay their fair share of taxes.  This should upset everyone.  This isn’t going to change until the Republicans feel it in the voting booth. So it is time to get started. Educate your neighbor or whoever you can to vote Democrat in the next election. We have to get the filthy rich to help the little people pay off that high deficit that we have.

I am still bragging. I didn’t vote for Trump.
