She was a member of St. Theodore Catholic Church, and also the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed card games, puzzle books, kettle corn and collecting purses and hats.

Lupe’s greatest joy was her family; she was so proud of each and every one of them. She was the caretaker of all, always giving, always caring for her children, grandchildren and all of her family — never judging, never criticizing, just caring and loving them with all her heart.

Lupe will be greatly missed by all those who loved her: daughter, Gina (Marco) Montero, of Albert Lea and children Andrew, Marcos, Eliyana and Eva; son, Hector (Amy) Ortiz, of Hibbing and children Hanley and Kalliope; brothers and sisters Robert (Josie) Duenes, Rudy Duenes, Rosa (Ramon) Villarreal, Carmen Rosas and Jesse (Lisa) Duenes; sister-in-law, Paula Duenes; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lupe was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John.

Lupe will be lovingly remembered, and her words will always remind her family to forgive and love deeply.
