Margaret Kinter, 1932-2020

Margaret Carol Kinter, 87, of Faribault and formerly of Northfield passed away at Emeralds of Faribault on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2020.

Margaret was born June 4, 1932, in Albert Lea to Carl and Grace (Lowry) Tveit. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1950. She married her true love, Bill Kinter, that same year. They raised their children together and enjoyed a wonderful family life for 45 years. Margaret was a stay-at-home mom and loved it.

She is survived by her daughter, Jan (Jer) Van Thomme, of Faribault; and daughter-in-law, Sue Kinter, of Lake Havasu, Arizona. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Missy (John) Bauth, Chandra (Brian) Evans, Tom Kinter, Adam Van Thomme and Reid (Ashley) Van Thomme; and seven great-grandchildren, whom she adored.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Bill, of 45 years; brother, William Lowry Tveit; sisters Marcia (Ben) Cipra and Nancy Ann Tveit; son, Jeffrey P. Kinter; and infant daughters Kerry Gervaise and Mia Elizabeth.

Margaret donated her body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the University of Minnesota Medical School.

A private burial, as requested, will be at Fairview Cemetery in Oakland. Memorials may be sent to the donor’s choice.
