Restaurant to raise funds for wounded officer

The Albert Lea Applebee’s will host a flapjack fundraiser from 8 to 10 a.m. Feb. 8 to benefit Waseca Officer Arik Matson, who was shot in the line of duty while serving the citizens of Minnesota, according to a press release.

Tickets to the fundraiser cost $10 and include pancakes, eggs, bacon, coffee and juice. All proceeds will be donated to Matson and his family.

Those interested in attending can contact Applebee’s, at 2740 Bridge Ave. in Albert lea, to purchase tickets. Those with questions can call the restaurant at 507-373-0380.

Each restaurant stays engaged in its neighborhood through participation in community events, donations, sponsorships and fundraisers to help local organizations grow and flourish, and takes care of their own team members through the Flynn Restaurant Group Family Fund, the release stated.
