- Members of the Albert Lea Shrine Club participated in the Christmas bell-ringing efforts for the Salvation Army on Dec. 7 at Hy-Vee and Marketplace Foods. A total of $3,412.54 was raised Dec. 7. Minnesota Masonic Charities teamed up with the group through an additional matching funds grant and matched the amount raised during the bell ringing. Western Star Lodge 26 members received and presented the matching funds, an additional $3,412.54, to Maj. Sandy Hunt of the Albert Lea Salvation Army. The grant was made possible through the request of Masonic Sponsor Western Star Lodge 26. This made the total presented to be $6,825.08, according to a press release. Those present during the donation were, from left, Mark Harig, Jake Loper, Hunt, Bill Webster and Bob Hahn. - Provided
