Three members of the Minnesota women’s swimming & diving program are headed to the 2020 NCAA Championships in Athens, Georgia, as announced by the NCAA on Wednesday afternoon. Emily Cook, Lindsey Kozelsky and Tevyn Waddell each posted times fast enough to qualify for NCAAs in at least one event.

Leading the charge by qualifying for three events at the 2020 NCAA meet, Waddell will compete in the 100 butterfly (52.20), 100 backstroke (52.99) and 200 backstroke (1:53.28).

As is likely no surprise to Gopher fans, Kozelsky made the NCAA cut in both the 100 breaststroke (58.66) and 200 breaststroke (2:08.66). Kozelsky boasts the highest seed of any Gopher with her placement in the 100 breast, as she enters seeded fifth overall in the event.

Cook will join her two senior teammates at NCAAs, having qualified to swim the 100 back (52.73) at this year’s national meet. This will be the junior’s first-ever appearance at the NCAA Championships as an individual competitor.

With three Gophers set to participate in five different events, the action at the 2020 NCAA Championships will take place from March 18-21.
