Maurice Lysne, 1931-2020

Maurice Ellsworth Lysne passed away at home surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at the age of 88.

Maurice Lysne
Maurice was born in Albert Lea on Aug. 30, 1931. He attended Devereaux School, then he attended Albert Lea High School where he participated in 4-H and FFA.
He was united in marriage to Henrietta Waalkens on Feb. 20, 1953. Their union was blessed with five children.
Maurice was a lifelong member of Oakland Lutheran Church, was a deacon and was on the church council. In life he enjoyed bowling, pheasant and deer hunting, fishing, reading, watching westerns, traveling and spending time with family — especially his grandkids and great-grandchildren.
Maurice is survived by his wife, Henrietta (Waalkens) Lysne; children Mark Lysne, Angela (Gerry) Cecci of Tampa Bay, Florida, Violet (Wayne) Kearns of Bryon, Pam (Ron) Vokoun and Darwin (Barb) Lysne of Albert Lea; grandchildren Aaron Kearns, Jason Kearns (Tanya Hays), Adam (Carrie) Kearns, Tami Vokoun, Theresa Vokoun, Tim Vokoun, Dustin Goskeson, Amy (Dayton) Snyder and Dan Lysne; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Grace Skaar and Ruby Armstrong; and many nieces and nephews.
Maurice was preceded in death by his mother, Marvyle (Stokker); father, Martin Lysne; and sisters Edith Guritz, Marjorie Thompson, Alice Friedrich, Doris Wayne, Rebecca Medd, Sarah Lunde and Rachel Lysne.
A celebration of life will be in June 2020. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the AmericanLung Association or St. Croix Hospice.
