Additional COVID-19 cases reported in Freeborn County

Lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases in Freeborn County increased by three Saturday, bringing the county’s total cases to 31, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Cases also increased by one in Mower County, bringing its total to 26. Cases remained steady in other neighboring counties: Faribault County, four; Waseca County, three; and Steele County, nine.
Total positive cases across the state increased to 2,213, with 121 deaths reported, an increase of 10 from the previous day.
Of the total cases, 1,118 no longer need to be in isolation, and 239 are in the hospital, including 111 in intensive care.
The highest number of cases are in Hennepin County, with 875. Ramsey County has had 192, and Olmsted County has had 177.
The state health department said 26% of cases statewide are from congregate living settings, including both staff and residents.
Across the state, 44,368 tests have been completed, including 9,981 through the Minnesota Department of Health’s public health lab and 34,387 through external laboratories.
