Arline C. Gore, 98, of Albert Lea passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020, at St. John’s Lutheran Community-The Woodlands.

Arline was born Nov. 5, 1921, to Aage and Elizabeth (Schott) Eskildsen at their home in Fertile, Iowa. She graduated from Northwood High School in 1940. She taught rural school from 1940 to 1942.

In 1942 she enlisted in the United States Navy and was discharged in 1945. She was united in marriage to Robert Gore on March 30, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Following both Robert and Arline’s discharge, they farmed around Northwood. Together they raised their six children in Northwood and Albert Lea.

Arline enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, sewing and bird watching. Most of all, she loved to spend time with family and friends.

Arline is survived by her children Dennis (Julie), Joan (Russell) Miller and Susan (Robert) Julius; son-in-law, John Szymanowski; daughters-in-law Sharon Gore-Zajicek and Sherry Gore-Brandt; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Floy; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; children Karen Szymanowski, Ron and Randy; and six siblings.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at St. John’s Lutheran Community and Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home for their love and care of Arline.
