Confirmed COVID-19 cases continue increasing in Freeborn County
Three more lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Freeborn County on Tuesday, bringing the total count to 14 cases.
Of those cases, one person is hospitalized, while the remainder are recovering at home, according to the Freeborn County Public Health Department.
The 12th case is a person in their 80s, the 13th case is in their 40s and the 14th case is in their 20s, a press release stated. Overall cases now range from 20s to 80s in the county.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, the state’s total confirmed cases reached 1,069, with 34 deaths reported.
Of the total cases, 549 have recovered and no longer need to be isolated, while 120 remain hospitalized, with 64 people in intensive care.
Mower County’s cases rose to 18, and cases in Dodge County increased to 11. Cases in other neighboring counties remained steady: three in Faribault County, eight in Steele County and three in Waseca County.
The most confirmed cases continue to be reported in Hennepin County with 310, while the second highest is Olmsted County with 103 cases.
The Department stated 35% of cases in Minnesota have happened as a result of community spread.
The Department of Health stated 29,260 cases have been completed, including 8,922 through the Department’s public health lab and 20,338 through external laboratories.
