Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

In this day and age, you never know if clicking on something on a website will bring up a barrage of ads or give you a virus on your computer or device. That’s why we wanted to let you know about a new feature on our website that is appearing with each article.

We recently added a new function that gives users the ability to have a news article read aloud.

The function comes through a company called Trinity Audio and can be found underneath the byline and date on each article. If you click on the play symbol next to “Listen to this article now,” users will first hear a sponsor advertisement and then the text of the article.

While right now the company pulls in advertising on its own, eventually local business owners will be able to utilize the ad portion of the audio to showcase their businesses.

If you click on the gray globe, this gives you the opportunity to listen to the text in a few other languages.

In a time where much of the world is shifting to a digital format, this feature will give readers the flexibility of getting their news in a way that is most convenient to them.

Give it a try — we think it’s a pretty neat function for our digital subscribers.
