How many people have been tested for COVID-19 in area counties?

About 4,471 Freeborn County residents have been tested for COVID-19 since the pandemic began, according to the Minnesota Department of Health’s weekly report released Thursday.
Of those tests, 6.9% came back positive for COVID-19.
More tests have been conducted for Mower County residents so far, with 9,823 tests being completed, and out of those tests, 9.2% came back positive, the department stated.
Test rates were smaller in Faribault and Waseca counties — 1,462 people had completed tests in Faribault County, with 3.1% coming back positive for COVID-19, and 2,195 tests have been completed in Waseca County, with 2.3% of those tests coming back positive.
Steele County had conducted 4,705 tests and had 4.9% of those tests returned positive.
Mower County is the only county of the five where deaths have been recorded. It has had two COVID-19 deaths.
