Daily COVID-19 update: Freeborn County’s cumulative case total passes 300
Freeborn County’s cumulative COVID-19 case count since the beginning of the pandemic passed 300 Thursday, according to an update from the Minnesota Department of Health.
The county had four new cases reported, pushing the county’s total to 302 cases.
The new cases included one person between 10 and 20, one person in their 20s, one person in their 40s and one person in their 60s, according to the Freeborn County Public Health Department.
Three more people are out of isolation, increasing the county’s total out of isolation to 283.
The department stated four people from Freeborn County are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.
Mower County reported seven new cases and has now had 972 cases; Steele County had one new case and has now had 240 cases; and Waseca County had two new cases, increasing its total to 73. No new cases were reported in Faribault County.
Statewide, 589 new cases were reported, pushing the state’s cumulative case count to 40,163 cases, according to the state department.
Of the state’s total numbers, 45,193 are out of isolation, and 251 are hospitalized, including 116 in intensive care.
The state department said five new deaths were reported in Anoka, Dakota, Pipestone and Polk counties, four of which were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.
The state’s total deaths are now at 1,490, of which 1,165 resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
