The Albert Lea boys’ hockey team will take on New Prague Wednesday night after defeating Rochester Lourdes 4-3 in the Section 1A semifinals.

Despite falling behind early in the matchup, the Tigers rallied and went back and forth with the Eagles through a high scoring first period, before pulling ahead once and for all in the second.

The Eagles took a 1-0 lead only three minutes into play on an even strength goal, but Tim Chalmers evened the score just over a minute later, assisted by Spencer VanBeek and Jack Ladlie.

Logan Olsen put the Tigers on top 3-2 in the 15th minute on an unassisted goal, but the Eagles were once again at the Tigers heels and tied the matchup at 3-3 with under a minute left in the period.

In the second period, Max Edwin gave the Tigers the lead they would keep for the rest of the game. The goal was assisted by Yoon.

Tanner Nelson was in goal for the Tigers and saved 27 shots throughout the game.

The Tigers will take on New Prague Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Rochester Recreation Center in the Section 1A finals.
