The Albert Lea Tigers girls’ hockey team took on Waconia in the third-place game of the Marshall Tiger Holiday Classic, with Albert Lea skating away with a 5-2 victory.

The Tigers fell behind 1-0 in the first period before Morgan Goskeson scored goals 10 seconds apart to give Albert Lea the 2-1 lead. Keira Erickson put the Tigers up 3-1 late in the period on a nice feed from Shelby Evans.

After a scoreless second period, Evans made it a 4-1 game on assists from Mika Cichosz and Goskeson. After Waconia made it 4-2 with three minutes left in the game, Goskeson completed her hat trick with an empty net goal at the 14:45 mark to round out the scoring.

Jayda Moyer picked up the victory in net for the Tigers, stopping 18 of 20 shots.
