Savelkoul Law Office welcomes new lawyer

Eric “E.J.” Thomas, a 2015 graduate of Albert Lea High School, has accepted a position with the Savelkoul Law Office.

Thomas graduated from University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 2022 and from the University of Minnesota in 2019. He has been with Savelkoul Law Office since Aug. 8, 2022, and he recently passed the bar exam in Minnesota.

Thomas will focus primarily on estate planning, probate and real estate, but will also be involved in business representation, corporate law and litigation matters.

During law school, Thomas excelled in his class for legal analysis and writing and served as a teacher assistant for the class in his second and third years. He also served as the president of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society in his second year at Pitt Law. Thomas enjoyed being a part of the Securities and Arbitration Clinic through Pitt Law, providing free legal services to small investors involved in arbitration disputes before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Before attending law school, Thomas played college baseball at Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City, Louisiana, and Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon. He then transferred to University of Minnesota where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and a minor in political science.

In his free time, Thomas enjoys golfing, hunting, backpacking trips, Boundary Waters Canoe Area trips and all kinds of outdoor activities, especially when he gets to do them with his dog, Luca, a chocolate lab/German wirehair mix. He enjoys all sports and loves helping to coach baseball when he is able.
