A mix of freezing drizzle and light snow wreaked havoc on area roads Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The freezing drizzle began late Saturday afternoon and changed to all snow later in the evening. Several crashes were reported on both interstates 35 and 90.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory through midnight and advised people to plan on slippery road conditions.

It advised motorists to slow down and be especially cautious near bridges and ramps, and be careful when using the brakes or accelerator.
