To begin the second half of their season, the Lake Mills wrestling team traveled to Greene to take on three conference opponents Thursday night.
In the meet’s opening dual, host North Butler-Clarksvile battled the Bulldogs tough.
The Bearcats led 26-24 before the Bulldogs won the last five bouts to win, 54-26.
Juniors Wyatt Hanna and Landon Price each secured their 100th career wins in the dual with pins.
Up next was rival Forest City, where there were many highs and lows for the team.
In the end, Lake Mills defeated the Indians by a score of 50-24.
“As expected after a layoff for Christmas break, there were some good and bad things,” said Lake Mills coach Alex Brandenburg. “At some points you could see some improvements, while at other points you knew it was time to go back to the drawing board.”
In the final dual, Lake Mills defeated West Fork, 78-0.
Several individuals finished the evening 3-0 in their matches: Lucas Oldenkamp, Landon Price, Steve Brandenburg, Garrett Ham, Beau Kaufman, Josiah Kjeldahl, Andrew Grunhovd and Wyatt Hanna.
