Administrator’s Corner by Chris Dibble

In an effort to stay as connected to the community as possible, I would like to take this week’s Administrative Update and invite all readers to join Mike Olson, Jack Skinness and me in a new podcast dedicated to celebrating the a variety of people and events at Albert Lea High School. This new podcast, called ALHS Tiger Talk, is now available through all major podcasting distribution channels including Apple, Amazon, Podbean, Samsung and iHeartRadio. You can like and subscribe using any of those platforms. For those who would rather stop in and listen one episode at a time, the podcast is also available on the Albert Lea High School website and is distributed each Friday at 10 a.m. on the Albert Lea High School Facebook page.

We recently published the 10th episode on this new podcast and welcome all to enjoy the entertaining information that is presented each week.

For those unfamiliar with what a podcast is, a quick AI generated description through ChatGPT gave this insight:

“A podcast is a digital audio or video program that is episodic in nature and available for streaming or download over the internet. Similar to radio shows, podcasts cover a wide range of topics, including news, entertainment, education, storytelling, interviews and more.

“Listeners can subscribe to podcasts through various platforms or apps on their computers, smartphones or other devices. Subscribing allows listeners to automatically receive new episodes as they are released. Additionally, listeners can usually access past episodes and choose which ones to listen to based on their interests.

“Podcasts offer flexibility and convenience, allowing listeners to consume content on their own schedule, whether during their daily commute, while exercising, or simply relaxing at home. With a vast array of genres and topics to choose from, podcasts have become a popular form of entertainment and learning for audiences worldwide.”

As you can see from above, we are very quickly becoming a more digitized world where information is almost immediately available for consumption. Here at Albert Lea High School, we are building tools that we hope are convenient for families to use so they can find important details when it is most convenient for them. We are always looking for feedback on how we can best make that happen, so any ideas are welcome as we build relationships in and outside of our school.

Spring break is a week away! Have a great break and welcome spring!

Chris Dibble is principal of Albert Lea High School.
