Albert Lea Community Band prepares to begin its 42nd season

The Albert Lea Community Band will resume rehearsals for their 42nd season starting on April 16. Rehearsals will take place each Tuesday through the end of May. The band will meet at the Southwest Middle School band room starting at 7 p.m. and practice until approximately 8:45 p.m. The band is looking for traditional band instrument players. The band welcomes all potential players, but has particular needs for clarinet, tuba and bass part players.

The Albert Lea Community Band was established in 1982 and has performed over 165 concerts for area audiences. The band is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and relies on grants such as the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council and Freeborn-Mower Electric Operation Roundup plus donations to sustain its activities.
