Man injured after crashing motorcycle and other reports

A motorcyclist was injured after a crash at 3:32 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot at 2306 E. Main St.

Police stated Allan Martin, 63, of Albert Lea, was taken to the hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Martin was reportedly trying a stunt on the bike when he went down and sustained injuries to his head and shoulder.

Fuel reported stolen

Police received a report of  theft of diesel fuel at 2:16 a.m. Friday at 2611 Bridge Ave.

 

Cash machine damaged

The cash machine in the food court at Northbridge Mall was reported broken into at 8:05 a.m. Friday. The machine was damaged, but no cash appeared to be in the cash box at the time of the report. The damage occurred between 9:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 a.m. Friday.

 

Theft by fraud reported

Police received a report at 11:10 a.m. Friday of someone who had fraudulently used someone’s checking account in Albert Lea to buy a cell phone.

 

Juvenile assaulted on bus

Police received a report at 3:01 p.m. Friday of a juvenile who was reportedly assaulted while on a school bus in Albert Lea.

 

Tools reported stolen

Tools were reported stolen at 3:35 p.m. Friday at 1022 S. Newton Ave. The theft was believed to have occurred Wednesday evening.

 

2 arrested on warrants

Police arrested Kelly Gene Lair, 37, on a local warrant at 3:51 p.m. Friday at 910 S. Broadway.

Police arrested Jason Alan Roe, 46, on multiple local warrants, as well as warrants in Olmsted, Blue Earth, Mower and Cerro Gordo counties at 2:55 p.m. Saturday at 1020 St. John Ave. He was also cited for fleeing on foot.

 

1 arrested on A&D hold

Police arrested Virl Burdette Deal, 45, on an arrest and detain hold at 6:29 p.m. Friday at 428 St. Thomas Ave.

 

Mirror reported damaged

The driver’s side mirror was reported damaged on a vehicle at 10:39 a.m. Sunday at 521 Euclid Ave.

 

Burglary reported

A burglary was reported at 2:27 p.m. Sunday at 803 Jefferson Ave. Nothing appeared to be missing.

 

Vehicle fire reported

A vehicle was reported on fire at 4:11 a.m. Saturday on the west side of the road on 640th Avenue between 110th Street and State Line Road in Emmons.

 

Fire reported in ditch

A fire was reported in the ditch near the exit ramp at 1:48 p.m. Saturday on Interstate 35 near milepost 2.

 

Dog bite reported

Deputies received a report at 8:13 p.m. Saturday of a dog bite that had occurred on 325th Street in Ellendale. The individual was in the emergency room.

 

1 arrested after reported shots fired

Deputies arrested Russell Edward Sorum, 63, for second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon after receiving a report of two shots fired near 750th Avenue and 160th Street. Neighbors were reportedly quarreling. Chase Ryan Kent was also arrested for a harassment restraining order violation.
