Thursdays on Fountain

The Albert Lea Community Band will host a park concert as part of the city’s first Thursdays on Fountain of the season. Music will start at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Fountain Lake Park. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair.

Pancake and waffle breakfast

The Alden American Legion Post 404 will have a pancake and waffle breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Legion. The cost of the meal is $7 with proceeds going to the Suicide Prevention Team. Those age 6 and under eat free. For questions call 507-874-3679 or 507-383-2687.

Allzin for Alzheimer’s barrel race

Help raise money for a great cause at the fifth annual Allzin for Alzheimer’s Barrel Race benefit. It will be held at 11 a.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds. There will also be a silent auction. Learn more information at allzinforalzheimers.com.

Library Foundation fun run/walk

Everyone is invited to Wells for a fun run/walk benefiting the Wells Library Foundation. The run will start at 8 a.m. Saturday at 54 First St. SW. There will be a one-mile, 5K or 10K option. Film showing

Learn more about the history of the game Monopoly at a special showing of the film “American Experience: Ruthless — Monopoly’s Secret History” at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Freeborn County Historical Museum, Library and Village. The film will explore the early roots of the board game and the untold tale of theft, obsession and corporate double-dealing. The event is free for museum members and $5 for nonmembers.
