Tigers place sixth at Section 1AA True Team meet

The Albert Lea boys’ track and field team finished sixth out of nine teams at the Section1AA True Team meet in Winona on Tuesday night. Stewartville won the meet with 506 points, The Tigers finished sixth with 288.
Highlights included:
Alex Palmer finishing first in the pole vault with a jump of 12′-06″
Aident Hartman finishing fourth in the pole vault with a jump of 11′-00″
Charlie Irvine finishing fifth in the triple jump with a jump of 40′-02″
Charlie Irvine finishing fourth in the long jump with a jump of 19′-10″
Isaiah McGaffey finished third in the 1600m run with a time of 4:32.98
The 4×400 team finished in fourth place with a tiem of 3:39.62 (Isaiah Anderson – 10, Max Irvine – 12, Payton Earl – 10, Isaiah McGaffey – 12) Payton and Isaiah ran their relay legs in the dark as the stadium lights went out half way into the race. Cell phone lights light the track for the competitors to complete their race.
The Tigers compete next week Tuesday at Mankato East and Thursday at New Richland.
