Gladys Reindal

Gladys was born on April 26, 1926, to Gustav and Olga (Erickson) Hanson in Emmons, MN. Her parents later moved to a farm home close to Albert Lea, MN. Gladys went to a country school located on her parents’ farmland and attended Albert Lea High School. She grew up on the farm, helping her dad with farm chores and fieldwork.

On June 2, 1946, Gladys married Owen Reindal at First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. Owen and Gladys farmed together for many years, taking care of animals, such as cattle, hogs, and chickens, and working in the fields with the crops. Gladys always had flower and vegetable gardens, but flowers were her favorite. She was an excellent cook and loved baking Christmas cookies and making lefse for the holidays. She enjoyed traveling to different places around the world, including special trips to Hawaii and Norway.
