As the 2024 election approaches, what are the major parties focusing on? While the world is literally burning, for President Joe Biden and the Democrats, it’s all about abortion “rights.” This is the hill they have decided to die on when it comes to their re-election chances in 2024. They base this on the idea that the American people, women in particular, have so rejected the 2022 ruling by the Supreme Court, which overturned Roe vs. Wade, that they will sell their collective souls to re-elect the Democrats.

So, what is the real belief of adult Americans on this issue? Is it really the big slam dunk support for abortions that the Democrats and their cohorts in the media tell us? The short answer is no. How the question is posed when people are polled makes a huge difference. Do not be fooled by the constant euphemisms! When they say “reproductive freedom,” they mean abortion. A January 2024 Marist Poll, found that 66% of Americans support some type of legal limits on abortion. Nearly 6 in 10 support limiting them to the first three months of pregnancy. A full 83% support pregnancy resource centers, which offer support to mothers both during and after the baby is born. Nearly two-thirds of adults believe health care professionals with religious objections should not be legally required to perform abortions. Eighty six percent believe that laws can and should protect both mother and unborn child.

In this land of the free and home of the brave, we already own the distinction of having abortion laws on par with Communist China, North Korea and Vietnam, yet the Biden administration wants to take it even further! If I can borrow a phrase from the president himself, “this is not who we are,” as the Marist poll clearly shows. Perhaps focusing their energy on so-called “reproductive freedom,” will take the minds of the voters off of the brutal state of the economy, the border disaster, cost of living, crime, college campus violence and wars that we are now embroiled in. Don’t be fooled for a minute. Exercise your God-given right to vote!
