The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living announced that 23 Samaritan Society locations, including the location in Albert Lea, received the 2024 Bronze – Commitment in Quality Award.

The Bronze Award is the first of three distinctions possible through the AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program, which recognizes long-term care providers across the nation that have demonstrated improved quality outcomes for staff, residents and individuals with disabilities in long term and post-acute care.

“This award is a testament to the incredible leadership and staff at our Good Samaritan Society locations,” said Nate Schema, Good Samaritan Society president and CEO. “We are one big team. Every position plays an important role in senior care – from CNAs and RNs to housekeeping and activities, our staff are vital to our residents who call the Good Samaritan Society home. I could not be prouder of our staff’s unwavering commitment to providing the best quality of care and quality of life for our residents. We are truly privileged to do this work and serve the seniors and families who have been entrusted to us.”

The AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award Program is a rigorous three-level process reviewed and evaluated by trained experts against a set of nationally recognized standards for organizational excellence. The standards of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program help organizations achieve superior performance over time to improve the quality of life and care of long term care residents.

Providers begin the quality improvement journey at the Bronze level, where they assess their organization’s mission, vision, and key factors that lead to success. Each application is reviewed and judged against a set of nationally recognized standards for achieving excellence.

This year, 709 long term care providers in 48 states achieved a Bronze National Quality Award. Bronze recipients may now move forward to the Silver – Achievement in Quality award criteria.

The awards will be presented during AHCA/NCAL’s Convention & Expo Oct. 6-9 in Orlando.
