Woman arrested for meth possession

Albert Lea police officers arrested Victoria Ann Rivera Lopez, 22, no address listed, for fifth-degree possession of methamphetamine after a traffic stop just before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police reports, Lopez was stopped after she allegedly passed an unmarked Albert Lea police car at a high rate of speed near the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and Blake Avenue.

Officers found several bags inside the vehicle of what field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Lopez is also expected to be charged with two third-degree meth sales charges and two second-degree meth sales charges from an ongoing investigation in Albert Lea.

Injury crash reported

A two-car injury traffic crash was reported at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of South Newton Avenue and East Pearl Street. One vehicle was reported towed. No other information was available as of press time.

Lights broken

Three skylights were reported broken out of a building near City Beach at 1:09 p.m. Wednesday.
