TRUMAN &8212; In a battle of 1-6 teams Wednesday night in Truman, the Glenville-Emmons Wolverines got shutout in the first half and fell 48-18 to its Southern Confederacy opponent.

Truman took advantage of the big play all night against the Wolverines&8217; defense and cruised to a 28-0 halftime advantage.

G-E (1-7) finally got on the board in the third quarter when Jarrad Knutson connected with Aaron Wuerflien from 3 yards out for the score.

The Wolverines were able to move the ball on the ground at times against Truman&8217;s defense, rushing for 142 yards as a team.

Garret Schumaker put the ball in the end zone to start the fourth quarter for G-E&8217;s only rushing score of the game. His effort came from 6 yards out.

Joe Williamson scored his first touchdown of the season for the Wolverines on a 6-yard pass from Knutson late in the game but it just wasn&8217;t enough as G-E lost for the seventh time this season.

Despite the score, G-E continued to rack up the yards through the air which will make them a dangerous team in the playoffs led by Knutson.

Knutson went 19 of 41 for 154 yards with two TD&8217;s and two picks. He also led the team in rushing with 68 yards on 15 carries.

&8220;We lost Zack Adams right away to start the game,&8221; said G-E head coach Jim Smith. &8220;That put a big dent in our line that we just couldn&8217;t overcome. Our contain in the passing game was just horrible and we continue to give up the big play.&8221;

The Wolverines start the section playoffs seeded eighth and will travel to Lanesboro Tuesday for their first round playoff game.
