Bernice Morrison, 92, of Albert Lea

The memorial service for Bernice Edna Morrison will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 1, at Freeborn Congregational United Church of Christ, Freeborn.

The Rev. Cherie Daniel will officiate.

Burial will be in Freeborn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.

Bernice died on Friday, April 28, 2006, at Albert Lea Medical Center.

She was 92 years old.

Bernice was born in Clarks Grove on Jan. 4, 1914, the daughter of Henry and Mabel (Petersen) Peterson.

She was a 1932 graduate of Albert Lea High School.

On Nov. 6, 1939, she was united in marriage with Charles &8220;Bob&8221; Robert Morrison in Kalispell, Mont., and on their honeymoon they hunted Big Horn sheep.

They resided in Freeborn for most of their married life but for the past several years they lived in Albert Lea.

They were members of Freeborn Congregational United Church of Christ, where Bernice had been active in ladies circle and women’s fellowship.

They also enjoyed traveling, especially to foreign countries.

Bernice had worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Watland in Albert Lea and had also been a partner in the family business for many years.

She had been on a bowling league and golf league at Oakview Golf Course.

She loved to bake bread and rolls on Saturdays and had a large vegetable garden. She liked to go fishing with her family and was also an avid Twins fan.

Bernice is survived by her husband, Charles of Albert Lea; four children:

Pat (Larry) Lee of Albert Lea, Dennis (Naoma) Morrison of Alden, Doug (Julie) Morrison of Alden, and Greg (Suzanne) Morrison Fargo, N.D.; nine grandchildren: Angie (Gary) Geesman, Brent (Diane) Morrison, Steve (Kris) Lee, Dan (Kristin) Lee, Shawn (Allison) Morrison, Sharlene (Dave) Rickert, Matt Morrison, Sarah (Jeff) Brass and Megan Morrison;

12 great-grandchildren:

Bobby, Tommy and Mallory Geesman, Jordan Schilz, Brittany, and Bailey Morrsion, Luke and Emma Morrison, Cole and Sage Rickert, Makenzie Johnson and Katelyn Lee; sister, Florabelle Hanson of Albert Lea; brothers-in-law, M.T. Morrison in Albert Lea and Bill (Pearl) Morrison of St. Peter.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, June Morrison; and brother-in-law Robert Hanson.

Bernice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She will be greatly missed by all. Blessed be her memory.
