Scott Schmeltzer, publisher and member of the Albert Lea Tribune Editorial Board, will speak on the role of the newspaper in the 21st century on Thursday for the meeting of the Retired Educators of Albert Lea.

The group meets at noon at America’s Best Value Inn. If individuals have not been called, but would like to attend, they may make a reservation with Ann Berry at 373-6004. A collection will be taken to supply the food for the Salvation Army and the Ecumenical food shelves.

Those willing to ring bells for the Salvation Army inside Hy-Vee on Dec. 6 may volunteer to do at the meeting. All retired school personnel are encouraged to attend to socialize and to keep informed about issues affecting seniors.
