Panthers hit glass to down Jaguars

NEW RICHLAND– The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panther girls’ basketball team pulled down 89 total rebounds Tuesday as the Panthers defeated the Jordan Jaguars 84-63 in New Richland.

Carlie Wagner scored 32 points to lead the way for NRHEG.

Kristina Cole and Jade Schultz both had doubles-doubles on the night.

Cole finished with 20 points and 17 rebounds, while Schultz scored 18 points and pulled down 16 rebounds.

Anna Schlaak led the Panthers with 20 rebounds.

“We really swept the boards tonight,” NRHEG coach John Schultz said. “It allowed us to shoot 37 percent and still score 84 points.”

The Panthers play again at 7:15 p.m. Friday as they play Waterville-Elysian-Morristown in Waterville.
