Panthers defeat Rockets

Evan Ferber scored 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds Friday as the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers boys’ basketball team defeated the Randolph Rockets 64-41 in Randolph.

With the win, the Panthers hit the .500 mark for the first time this season with a 12-12 record.

The Panthers jumped on the Rockets early and cruised into half-time with a 43-23 lead.

“We had a very good first half,” NRHEG coach Pat Churchill said. “We were 15 for 19 in the paint and shot 19 for 29 in the first half.”

Along with Ferber, Matt Carlson scored 11 points and Hunter Eustice scored 10 points.

The Panthers hit the court again on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. as they host Waseca.
