MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Gas prices in Minnesota are lower than they were during the Labor Day weekend last year, and analysts say they could fall even further heading into the fall.

Reports said that in the Twin Cities, the average gas price was $3.36 per gallon on Friday. That’s 20 cents less than last year.

Patrick DeHaan is a senior petroleum analyst at GasBuddy.com. He says that barring any refinery issues or geopolitical flare-ups, the Twin Cities could see gas prices below $3 this fall. That’s more likely in Burnsville, Coon Rapids, Eagan, Maple Grove and Shakopee. Those areas typically see the lowest gas prices in the metro.
