Vehicles, keys stolen in Hartland

HARTLAND — Several thefts were reported on Friday in Hartland.

A 2002 white Pontiac Sunfire was reported stolen at 11:42 a.m. Friday from 519 Main St. in Hartland. The car was discovered at 8:59 p.m. Friday in Steele County.

Keys were reported stolen from a vehicle at 11:59 a.m. Friday at 602 Main St. Hartland.

A 1996 red Dodge Intrepid was reported stolen at 5:01 p.m. Friday from 608 Johnson St. in Hartland. The car was taken sometime early Friday morning.

 

2 arrested for DWI

Police arrested Alexander John Sheetz, 24, for third-degree driving while intoxicated at 1:18 a.m. Saturday at 205 W. William St., Albert Lea.

Police cited Joshua James Schwarz, 19, for driving while intoxicated after a crash at 7:04 a.m. Sunday on the 1000 block of Johnson Street. No other information was available as of press time.

 

Items reported stolen

Items were reported missing from a house at 7:21 p.m. Saturday at 506 Minnesota Ave.

Albert Lea police received a report at 2:28 p.m. Sunday of a checkbook and phone charger that had been stolen from a truck sometime between Nov. 10 and 11. The report did not list an address.

 

Car hits mailbox

A car reportedly hit a mailbox at 12:02 p.m. Saturday at 78335 235th St., Albert Lea.

 

3 cited for shoplifting

Police cited Kavin Earl Whelan, 50, for shoplifting at 8:47 p.m. Saturday from Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave.

Police cited one person for theft at 3:58 p.m. Sunday from Walmart, 1550 Blake Ave. The name was redacted on the police logs.

Police cited Carole Annette Carr, 43, for theft at 6:13 p.m. Sunday from 2708 Bridge Ave. Theft was estimated at $171.36.

 

1 injured in crash

One person was reportedly injured after a car went into the ditch at 7:37 p.m. Friday on Freeborn County Road 17 west of Conger. The report stated there may have been a possible medical condition that led to the crash.

No other information was available as of press time.

 

Teenager arrested for assault

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 15-year-old boy for domestic assault and disorderly conduct at 1:09 p.m. Sunday at 302 N. Hillcrest Circle, Clarks Grove.

 

Man arrested for giving false info to officer

Police arrested Derek Anthony Demory, 24, for providing false information to a police officer and not having a Minnesota driver’s license after a traffic stop at 1:26 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of West Front Street and South First Avenue.

 

1 cited for marijuana 

Police cited Gunner Alexander Mitchell, 21, for possession of a small amount of marijuana after receiving a report at 7:57 p.m. Saturday of four suspicious males at 506 Bridge Ave.
