Residents will have the chance to check out Albert Lea’s new community resource center during an open house on Friday.

The center opened in September after about two years of planning.

Organizers hope it can be a place for all residents — whether they just moved to town or have been here for a while — to go to find out about available resources.

It will also be an opportunity for people to come and learn about volunteer opportunities in the community.

The resource center is a collaboration between multiple organizations, and representatives from the organizations take turns staffing the center.

The community resource center can be reached at 507-369-1463 or by email at info@crcalbertlea.com.

It is regularly open from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
