Man arrested after reportedly pulling knife

Police arrested Jose Luis Garza Jr., 38, after he allegedly pulled a knife on a bouncer at 2:07 a.m. Sunday at 134 W. William St.

 

Scams reported

A scam was reported at 4:45 p.m. Friday in Albert Lea. An Albert Lea Electric customer was reportedly called and told his power was going to be shut off if he didn’t wire some money. The customer didn’t send the money.

A computer scam was reported at 6:54 p.m. Saturday at 312 Fairview Drive. The alleged victim paid $300 to a company called Pro-Tech.

 

Vehicle strikes hydrant

A vehicle reportedly struck a fire hydrant at 2:08 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Clark Street and Market Avenue. The vehicle was reportedly towed.

 

Thefts reported

A bicycle was reported stolen at 1 p.m. Saturday at 1147 S. Broadway Ave. The bicycle was reportedly stolen the night before.

A blue and white BMX bike was reported stolen at 5:24 p.m. Saturday at 507 W. Main St. The bicycle was reportedly taken approximately three hours before.

Three tablets and money were reported taken from a residence at 9:58 p.m. Monday at 1710 E. Hawthorne St.

 

Dog attacks bicyclist, other dogs

A black and white pit bull reportedly attacked a bicyclist and other dogs at 6:41 p.m. Saturday at 1016 Frank Hall Drive.

 

Juveniles cited

A juvenile was cited for misdemeanor assault at 7:07 p.m. Saturday at 915 Garfield Ave.

A juvenile was cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and taken home at 9:07 a.m. Monday at Albert Lea High School.

 

2 cited for theft

Police cited Francisco Javier Zumora Victorino, 19, for theft at 12:05 p.m. Sunday at Walmart in Albert Lea.

Police cited Elmer Ortega Colindres, 43, for theft at 8:57 p.m. Sunday at 2306 E. Main St.

 

Police arrest 1 on warrant

Albert Lea Police arrested Arlen Eugene Bruguier, 52, on a Hennepin County warrant for theft at 10:27 p.m. Saturday at 2019 E. Main St. Bruguier was also arrested and held for trespassing at 8:38 p.m. Monday at 820 Happy Trails Lane.

 

2 arrested for driving with revoked licenses

Police arrested Alayna Gail Woodworth, 21, for gross misdemeanor no proof of insurance, driving after revocation and expired registration. Woodworth was held for bail.

Police arrested Shamika Benion, 29, for gross misdemeanor no insurance, possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor driving after revocation at 3:21 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Belmont Street and South First Avenue.

 

$15,000 in cash stolen

About $15,000 was reported stolen at 9:41 a.m. Monday at 1025 James Ave. in Albert Lea. The money was reportedly in $100 denominations.

 

Vehicle keyed

A white Toyota was reported keyed at 2:40 p.m. Monday at 2218 E. Main St. Estimated damage was unknown.

 

Mailbox reported damaged

A mailbox was reported damaged at 9:31 a.m. Monday at 73250 220th St., near Albert Lea.
