The Rev. John Holt, pastor at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, has been selected as chairman of the national board of directors for The Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society. He has been a member of the Good Samaritan Society’s 16-member board of directors since 2010.

Holt is excited about the future of the Good Samaritan Society and the assistance it can give to America’s seniors.

“The work that the Good Samaritan Society does is vitally important as a national leader in senior care, services and housing,” Holt said. “As a baby boomer myself and part of the generation that is approaching retirement age, I’m excited to help the Good Samaritan Society position itself to serve this generation. There are many who are ill-prepared for becoming older, and as the needs of this generation grow in 10 to 15 years, the mission opportunity for the society will grow.”

Holt is a 1973 graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
