Teen escaped car after going into lake

Albert Lea police have released more information about a vehicle that went into Fountain Lake Tuesday morning.

According to police, the vehicle, driven by a teenage girl, reportedly lost control while heading north on Lakeview Boulevard, just south of Wedge Street.

The car came to rest on an embankment before sliding into the lake, said Deputy Director of Police J.D. Carlson of the Albert Lea Police Department.

The teenager was reportedly able to escape on her own before the vehicle was fully in the lake. She was reportedly wet to her waist.

Roads were icy at the time of the crash.

 

1 arrested for misdemeanor tampering

Albert Lea police arrested David Wesley Neely, 23, for misdemeanor tampering with a motor vehicle, theft, damage to property and receiving stolen property at 3:34 a.m. Monday at the Freeborn County Law Enforcement Center.

 

1 arrested for order for protection violation

Police arrested Joseph David Strobel, 36, for an order for protection violation at 1:20 p.m. Monday at 1217 Frank Ave.

 

1 arrested on apprehension and detention order

Police arrested Codey James Camerer, 27, on an apprehension and detention order at 1:47 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Lakeview Boulevard and Sunset Street.

 

1 arrested for threats of violence

Police arrested Lorenzo Junior Ramirez, 42, for threats of violence and misdemeanor domestic assault at 9:41 p.m. Monday at 415 W. College St.

 

2 arrested on local warrants

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a juvenile female on a local warrant for truancy at 1:04 p.m. Monday. The juvenile was reportedly taken to the Hayward group home.

Police arrested Shepperd Lawrence, 24, on two local warrants at 6:23 p.m. Friday at 1223 Madison Ave.

 

Break-in reported 

Someone reportedly broke into a house and stole some items at 5:10 p.m. Monday at 602 Water St.
