PAYNESVILLE — The parents of an 11-year-old Minnesota boy abducted in 1989 are holding a community meeting to help central Minnesota residents cope with recent developments in the case.

Daniel James Heinrich was charged last month with four counts of child pornography possession and also named a person of interest in Jacob Wetterling’s disappearance. Wetterling hasn’t been seen since he was abducted near his home in St. Joseph, which is about 20 miles from Paynesville, on Oct. 22, 1989.

Patty and Jerry Wetterling have organized a meeting in Paynesville on Monday. Paynesville Police Chief Paul Wegner said it’s a chance for residents to help those impacted and share resources.
