Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services and Heartland Power Cooperative ask their members to “power down” from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, according to a press release.

The companies asked that customers wait until after 7 p.m. to use any unnecessary electric power this evening.

Today is a peak alert day due to high demands for electricity throughout the Midwest region. The release said waiting until 7 p.m. will help keep electricity costs low for members of Freeborn-Mower Cooperative Services and Heartland Power Cooperative.
