The younger students of St. Casimir’s School in Wells were treated to a visit to the Wells fire station recently to learn about safety issues. Firefighter Scott Berg shared with the students how dangerous certain items, such as matches and candles, can be when used unsafely. He also demonstrated how smoke alarms work, including just how loud the alarm can be. Firefighter Richard Brandenburg gave the students a tour of the fire station, including all the “bells and whistles” of the firetrucks. The school’s thanks go to the members of Wells Fire Department and especially to firefighters Pyzick and Brandenburg for their tremendous service in keeping the community safe. - Provided
