School threat ruled not credible

A Facebook post identified as a possible threat to United South Central was deemed not credible Wednesday.

“The post was thoroughly investigated by the school resource office and has found to have no credibility,” the district said on its website. “Student safety is our highest priority, and we thank those who brought this matter to our attention.”

The school did not have to enter lockdown because of the reported threat.

Theft, damage reported

A $2,450 fictitious check was reported at 10:56 a.m. Tuesday at 610 S. Broadway Ave.

An estimated $800 in damage to a fence was reported at 2:53 p.m. Tuesday at 2200 Riverland Drive.

Prescription medication was reported stolen at 3:01 p.m. Tuesday at 258 S. Pearl St.

A license plate was reported stolen from a vehicle at 3:07 p.m. Tuesday at 2114 E. Main St.

A theft report was filed at 5:11 p.m. Tuesday at 827 S. Newton Ave.

2 arrested for violations

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Tasha Rae Nelson, 29, for meth possession and obstruction with force after a mentally ill person was reported at 7:10 a.m. Tuesday at 371 N.W. Third Ave. in Glenville.

Albert Lea police arrested Jacob Steven Segura, 19, for gross misdemeanor interference with a 911 call after a 911 hangup call was reported at 12:39 p.m. Tuesday at 2019 E. Main St.
