Domestic incident reported

A report of someone coming at a relative with a butcher knife was reported at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday at 201 E. Park St. The person reportedly put the knife down.

Attempted break-in reported

An attempted break-in was reported at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday at Stevens Window & Hardware, 1109 S. Broadway Ave. A tempered window on the store’s front door was broken open, and blue paint transfer was sustained from the object used to strike the window, according to Albert Lea police. No entry was gained. Damage was estimated at $300.

An office was reported ransacked at 9:09 a.m. Tuesday at Christ Episcopal Church, 204 Fountain St. A window was reported broken, and desk drawers were open. No items were missing. Damage was estimated at $300.

A stolen license plate was reported at 9:46 a.m. Tuesday at 1010 Ramsey St.

A check from a stolen account number was reported cashed at 1:21 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Fargo, 122 E. Main St. The victim is from Duluth, Georgia.

A counterfeit bill was reported at 10:25 p.m. Tuesday at Casey’s General Store, 2222 E. Main St.

Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested James Edward Mills, 56, on local warrants at 4:57 a.m. Wednesday at 411 S. Broadway Ave.

Sex crime with a child victim reported

A delayed report of child sex abuse was reported at 11:28 a.m. Tuesday in Albert Lea.
