Donald F. Sorenson, 97, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020. A longtime resident of St. Paul, he was born in Albert Lea to Harvey and Stella Sorenson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1940. He was a World War II D-Day veteran and worked in St. Paul.

Those surviving and who will forever hold Don in their hearts are his wife, Mary Eileen; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Dwayne (Geri) and Rodger (Vivian) Sorenson; sister, Kathleen (Ed) Matson; and friend, Joanie Bindbeutal.

A memorial gathering will be from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at Cremation Society of Minnesota in St. Paul. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 30 at Fort Snelling Cemetery.
