It has only been a few weeks since changes went into effect to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and people’s daily habits were instantly forced to change.

Whether it’s how much time you’re spending with your family, how you’re taking time out to enjoy a book or things like ordering your groceries online and picking up take-out to eat with your family, the way we all used to do things has changed.

Some of these changes will stick around for only the course of this pandemic, while others may become the new normal and people will decide they actually like it better the new way.

People might find maybe it’s easier to order groceries online or easier to pick up take-out to eat at home and that it’s nice to spend more time with loved ones and that your stress reduces when you take more time out for yourself. Some businesses may even decide they like the flexibility of allowing their employees to work from home.

As businesses transform in the coming weeks, and our consumer habits in turn continue to change, we urge you to support the businesses that are supporting local. Whether they are businesses that are delivering meals to health care or emergency workers, businesses that are donating to local causes or businesses that are supporting our own newspaper, the time to show our gratitude for their efforts has never been more important.

To the businesses trying to stay afloat at this time: Remember, now is not the time to coast. Now is the time to show your worth.

Let us help you show the community your worth.
