Daily COVID-19 update: Freeborn County reports 17 new cases

Freeborn County reported 17 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Friday, according to the Freeborn County Public Health Department.
The department stated the county has now had 217 cases since the beginning of the pandemic in March. The new cases include:
• Two people under 10
• One between 10 and 20
• Five in their 20s
• Five in their 30s
• Two in their 50s
• Two in their 60s
The department stated one Freeborn County resident is hospitalized at this time, and 143 people are now out of isolation.
Mower County had 34 new cases reported and has now had 638 cases, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Steele County had two new cases, and Waseca County had one, for totals of 175 and 33 respectively.
Statewide, 490 new cases were reported, increasing the state’s positive cumulative cases to 29,795. Of that number, 25,028 no longer need to be in isolation.
Twenty-five new deaths were reported in Anoka, Clay, Hennepin, Ramsey and Sibley counties. All of the deaths were over 60 years of age, and 22 were residents of long-term care or assisted living facilities.
The state department said there have been 1,274 total deaths since March, and of that number 1,015 resided in long-term care or assisted living facilities.
Statewide, 403 people are hospitalized as of today, including 191 in intensive care.
